WE NEED A DEED OF THE LAND THAT IS GOING TO BE SURVEYED OR THE PARENT
PARCEL. IF A DEED CANNOT BE OBTAINING WE NEED SOMETHING LIKE A TAX
PARCEL NUMBER, PPIN, OWNER'S NAME, DEED BOOK AND PAGE NUMBER,
ADDRESS, ETC. COURTHOUSE RESEARCH IS NECESSARY AND
NO. 2 -
VISIT THE TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE AND GET A COPY OF THE CURRENT TAX MAP,
AN 81/2" x 11" COPY OF THE PARCEL TO BE SURVEYED AND THE ADJOINING
PARCELS. THE TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU A DEED
BOOK AND PAGE NUMBER OF YOUR PARCEL AND THE ADJOINING PARCELS.
NO. 3 -
VISIT THE CHANCERY CLERK'S OFFICE AND ASK THEM TO MAKE COPIES OF ALL
THE DEEDS YOU COLLECTED FROM THE TAX ASSESSOR'S OFFICE. THE
CHANCERY CLERK WILL SOMETIMES CHARGE A SMALL FEE FOR DOING THIS BUT
I CAN ASSURE YOU ITS A SMALLER FEE THAN IF A SURVEYOR DOES IT FOR YOU!
NO. 4 -
NOW THAT YOU HAVE A COPY OF THE CURRENT TAX MAP, A COPY OF YOUR
DEED, AND DEEDS FOR ALL OF THE ADJOINING PROPERTY'S, YOU'RE READY TO
GO SEE A SURVEYOR, AND YOU'VE SAVED A FEW BUCKS TOO !!!
