In 2006, Purvis Land Surveying, made a large monetary investment in purchasing all of the land surveying records from Culpepper & Carmichael Surveyors. Early Engineers and Land Surveyors such as: J.C. Watts, J.D. Hamilton, J.M. Slaughter, E.G. Drake, M.R. Culpepper and G.W. Carmichael all contributed to this archive of surveying records that dates back to the early 1920's. Over 20,000 surveys and literally thousands of historical aerial photos, ownership maps, city and county maps, topographical maps, flood maps, elevation certificates and much more. In time we hope to have all of these records "electronically indexed and scanned", however, this takes a considerable amount of time and money, both of which are very scarce right now. We don't like to have to charge anyone for a copy of something that they have already paid for, but you must realize, we are a small under-staffed company and our time is very valuable. If we ask for a nominal fee for a copy of a survey you can be assured that it's because it's the only way we can keep the files available to the public, and the lights on too. Although we're not Culpepper & Carmichael anymore we do strive to provide the same professional service and quality surveys in the most efficient manner as possible.
Operating mainly outdoors, our office hours are limited, opening on Mondays from 9 am -5 pm for walk-in appointments and phone calls. This is understandably inconvenient for some people. This is the main reason LandSurvey101.com was created. Using our Online request forms keep our doors open virtually 24 hours a day and cuts down on our overhead, which in todays economy is paramount. So whether you need a quote, a copy, a survey, or just want to know if the land you live on may have been surveyed before, you've come to the right place.
With your help we can continue to update and improve our site to better suit the needs of the public. So please be patient with us and give this system a try.
